About Us

The Grande Alberta Economic Region (GAER) is an alliance of 14 rural municipalities, towns and villages, including one associate member, Jasper National Park. The GAER not-for-profit corporation is made up of business, government, and industry stakeholders operating as an agency on behalf of its member municipalities.

Each municipality is represented by an elected delegate and an alternate. Several provincial and regional agencies provide technical resources in support. The Grande Alberta Economic Region (see map) stretches from Onoway on the east, to Grande Cache and Jasper National Park on the west. It extends 60 kilometres south of Highway 16 and 20 kilometres north of Highway 43.
