Arts and Culture
Grande Alberta is rich in both culture and history. Pioneers, cowboys, prospectors and the western reach of our national railway are just a few of the influences that make up the history of our area, which is kept alive and relevant in our museums, cultural centres and tourism industry.

The Grande Alberta region has a 4-season climate with mild springs, warm summers, temperate autumns and crisp, snowy winters. Our excellent infrastructure ensures that travel is rarely interrupted by weather patterns.

Alberta takes pride in having the lowest crime rate in Canada.
Education
GAER's public education system is part of the Grande Yellowhead School Division, Wildrose School Division, Northern Gateway Public Schools and the Pembina Hills Regional School Division. Our Catholic education system is part of the Living Waters Catholic Regional Division and Saint Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Schools. Health Care
With well-equipped hospitals and access to excellent medical services, residents of Grande Alberta enjoy a very high standard of health care.
Housing
Each of our municipalities offers a good selection of affordable housing choices, including newly constructed homes in subdivisions, affordable starter homes and older, established properties. Senior housing is also available through the Evergreens Foundation and the Lac St. Anne Foundation. Hinton is currently undertaking an affordable housing project and the Humans Helping Humans project in Drayton Valley exists to create affordable housing in that community.
